Ya know, I got into this comic for clowns and laughs, not gruesome deaths or having my emotions toyed with. I’ll give it another page, but unless this is yet another fake out, I think the double cross into triple cross into brutal murder has lost me.
The first chapter had an attempted murder via rocket launcher. The second chapter featured someone being fatally poisoned. If you didn’t realize it was going in this direction, that’s on you.
Shrug. Dunno what to tell you, I find both of those incidents and the way they were handled in story to be significantly less disturbing that Mami-ing a main character by “this is Sparta” kicking her out a window with a rope around her neck. If you want to be reductive about it and say violence was always in the comic, go right ahead. In my opinion this is a new level.
It’s not that I didn’t see the direction the comic was going, I just hoped that it would lean a little bit more into the sleep fighting clowns, infinite teleporting pies, or jet powered surfboards. Instead we get 50 page setup and an 11th hour redemption just to make sure to squeeze that extra bit of tragic out of our hanging imagery here. Or she escapes somehow and we have our 4th double back on this character in the last half chapter. Either way, just not for me.
Love the impulse to impugn anyone who disagrees with you though, real classy.
Hey man, I don’t know if you get notifications for this, but I reckon it’s safe to read on. This scene hasn’t reached its conclusion yet, but it’s looking somewhat less disturbing than you may have thought.
I feel you on the hanging thing though. It’s not about the violence itself, but certain things ring too close to home for some people.
I… don’t have like a funny comment or suggestion or something. I think she’s gonna die and I think it’s gonna suck. I guess this is the price of raising the stakes. It needs to count.
Tonight, a comedian died in Pinfall City
Joking aside, poor Oats. What a gruesome way to go.
This fight manages to be slapstick without being comedy.
[through tears] cowboys don’t die they just ride off into the sunset…
Well, take about a way to go out….
I say she’s going to throw Echo with her.
friends never say goodbye~
Jesus christ that’s a brutal way to die.

Probably done even if it is, tbh.
You sound boring. Goodbye!
imagine complaining about compelling plot

God forbid people introduce character development or any sort of twist lmao
She still has that lasso around her neck and the bookcase as an anchor. I think this is it.
I wonder what Oats is saying there…
