Okay, turns out bringing Mustard to a private home was less stupid than we thought.
Also, this is the reason they broke up, right? He couldn’t handle her consorting with criminals? (I know she told Oats on Ch5p18 that they fought over “some silly thing” and she can’t even remember what it was, but I suspect she was fibbing.)
Or, maybe the whole “patching up criminals” thing put the initial strain on their relationship, and the silly argument was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Same difference.
They talk about it later in Chapter 5 (https://clowncorps.net/comic/chapter-5-page-54/)! They had an argument over how little it’d take for Annie to break the law since back in the day Binky’s trust in The Rules hadn’t eroded. Not outright stated but almost definitely what caused them to drift apart cause of ideological differences.
And since Annie was the one to bring it back up, kiiiiiinda lying about not remembering the silly thing.
The reason why criminals don’t go to the hospital not because they are refused treatment, but because if you have gun wounds the police might ask you HOW exactly you got said wound.
So yeah, that line about “everyone deserve medical treatment” is quite uncalled for, especially in regards of medics that actually do their job; even the reports to the police.
In the US getting the police involved has a high chance of causing a great deal of suffering and can get people killed. These days, it also has a chance of getting non-white people moved to ICE custody where people are regularly denied medical treatment. Reporting gunshot victims to the police is a violation of the Hippocratic oath to do no harm.
Pretty sure it’s contextual, based on the answers to these two questions:
“Are you in danger if we release you?”
“If so, is it *more* danger than you would be in if we referred you to the police?”
So that explains why Mustard could not go to the local hospital. Also this does show that Blinky considers those two his good friends and allies to have around him.
This page is a consoling pat on the back that managed to knock the wind out of me as if it were a slap. Gonna need a night and another re-read (that i would have done anyways) for the full relevance of this to sink in.

Damn, Annie healed Mustard *quick*. Well, stabilized. Still, for being stabbed in the chest, that’s no mean feat.
Maybe Binky X Anesthesia could still happen, then? “Best friend” doesn’t necessarily imply “girlfriend”, and Mustard does seem a lot younger than Binky.

I believe troubles have not yet left the doorstep of the Binky household. Binky and Bout have yet to reconcile and come to terms with Bout’s decision to walk out on his job.
Binky’s really having to come to terms with being wrong about the law this chapter, isn’t he?
Binky’s going through a lot and he hasn’t even touched base with about again.
Next chapter, hopefully not the final one, is gonna hit like a Mack truck.

It’s so wild to see all these characters out of their costumes after so long
Marvel has Night Nurse, Clown Corps has Annie
Because superheroes have crappy health care plans

i mean her gimmick is Being Really Fuckin Good at Healthcare, so there’s that
Oof, there’s something so powerful about him just immediately, no hesitation saying “gratitude” and nothing else. SO good

Nuts, must have tapped “Reply” by accident. Ignore, please.

All this chaos and the night is still young

Binky is *suffering* under all this character growth. ^_^
