The Mime has a much higher plot armor, with a bunch of it put into resilience, so the confetti cannon has a lot less effect on her than it does on mooks.

So, this doesn’t look good, but I just discovered that I somehow completely missed Echo getting blasted away by the confetti cannon (and you know, not killing Mustard), so I’m actually feeling pretty happy right now.
unfortunately for echo, mcbell is currently in the ‘refusal of the call’ phase, so there’s no way that this will be a narratively conclusive fight, if there’s a fight at all.
Nah. She already Jumped At The Call back at the end of Chapter 4, remember? That said, we’re still way too early for the Supreme Ordeal/Encounter With Death. As Maggie is no doubt aware.

But I really fear for McBell: The last time she fought Echo, she relied heavily on her gear. That she doesn’t have now… OTOH she might have a riled up Bout nearby and some armed and dangerous clowns. The better part of valor is discretion, McBell!
I don’t think changing the story based on audience feedback is the kind of thing our esteemed author would do, but dang if reading the comments isn’t totally something Echo would do.
Maybe not. For all of Echo’s awareness that she’s in a work of fiction, I don’t think she’s ever directly addressed the audience the way McBell has. Then again, even McBell doesn’t do it that often, so maybe it just hasn’t come up yet.
For all of Echo’s awareness, page 179 is already made. It says on the top left that everything up to 180 is up on the patreon. Echo cannot change her actions at this point.
Now, I don’t actually think this is the direction Joe wants to take the character, but what do I know?
I expect Echo to throw out at least some kind of dig or half-hearted mind game. But yeah, this is just about what I’m hoping for.
If not, my guess is that Echo manages to KO McBell and we jump into a Hero-Held-Prisoner arc next time. One way or another, I’m not feeling another big fight scene right now.
Speaking as someone who’s seen Apocalypse Bringer Mynoghra, I can say it’s never a good sign for anyone Lawful Good when an Evil Aligned character’s making a face like that.

And re: the mall, I’m pretty sure Echo was just there eating a burger, man. Why would she spy on Macbeth? She doesn’t need to.
