Maggie, are you seriously going to kill your sister and hide the body, just to crush McBell’s spirit and make her quit being a clown because she thinks she got abandoned again?
Is this what it’s coming to? Are you *that* committed to this 4th-wall observing BS?
Echo seems very genre-savvy, and she believes McBell is the “main character” of the “story.” And with McBell acting humble, wearing Mustard’s colours, acknowledging Mustard as her teacher, I’m reminded of a very common trope in hero motivation: death of a mentor. Someone who’s genre-savvy would know that’s a death-flag on the villain, giving the hero a one-time pass for killing, but it looks like Echo doesn’t believe she’s going to survive this “story” anyways.
Yeah, I’m not sure which way this is going! Oats survived her deathflags, and it was terrifying, but also a really cool subversion. Now Mustard is getting really meta deathflags, which would normally imply that *subversion* is the natural way to go, but Mr. Chouinard may instead subvert that expectation.
This comic is really scary when it tries to be. Probably the scariest I’ve seen a comic get, actually, and it’s not actually trying for horror.
Well that doesn’t make any sense because despite both Oats and Echo being brunettes, the latter’s hair is currently white; and not to mention, despite both Oats and Echo also being American, the former is Southern and the latter is… well, I don’t really know actually, so I’m just gonna say “more traditionally American sounding”.
McBell: I think me and her might actually be related in a sense.
Oh gods, this *is* her saying goodbye to Mustard…
While wearing her colors.
Echo wouldn’t kill Mustard, right?
Yesterday I would have said “of course not”, but that face is giving me second thoughts.
Or maybe she’s just gleeful because she knows McBell’s about to say…whatever it is McBell’s about to say?
Or she just appreciates the composition on this page
The suspense is absolutely killing me I’m going INSANE
Oh no. Oh no no no no…
….And thats why she doesn’t take it personally her friends ditched her to get away even though she should have.
It’s the way life is, for her.
You get left behind by people.

Why do I have a feeling that this entire fight was just bait to draw Mustard away from McBell ?
Are we finally about to figure something out about Echo?

I don’t like where this is going
Guess somebody has got to wear Mustard’s colors if she’s not going to huh :’)
Alt text for mobile readers:
McBell got beef with Paul Blart
Joe if you kill Morgan I swear to god i’m going to show up on your doorstep and cry SO HARD
Uh… Is the mime actually Oats??? Is this a hallucination?

Echo almost killed Oats in an epic fight. Since this is not “Fight Club”, it should be clear that these are different people.
I was already on edge and Echo in that last panel is legitimately creeping me out!
Mustard boutta be a Clown Corpse
That’s very good word play.
