Well that doesn't make any sense because despite both Oats and Echo being brunettes, the latter's hair is currently white; and not to mention, despite both Oats and Echo also being American, the former is Southern and the latter is… well, I don't really know actually, so I'm just gonna say “more traditionally American sounding”.

Yeah, I’m not sure which way this is going! Oats survived her deathflags, and it was terrifying, but also a really cool subversion. Now Mustard is getting really meta deathflags, which would normally imply that *subversion* is the natural way to go, but Mr. Chouinard may instead subvert that expectation.
This comic is really scary when it tries to be. Probably the scariest I’ve seen a comic get, actually, and it’s not actually trying for horror.
