Eh, I’m firmly in camp “you aren’t responsible for the unforeseeable domino effect resulting from your actions”, and that goes for positive results as well as negative. If you run a pedestrian over with your car you don’t get to pretend to be a hero if it turns out that person was a murderer, and if you abuse your authority to force someone into babysitting duty you don’t get to take credit for preventing their secret schemes.
one thing I appreciate about the Mayor is that he somehow manages to be more of a cartoon character than any of the people wearing actual clown makeup.
This arc has truly produced the most hateable character in the entire comic so far, and we’ve had to contend with Gilborn and the barrel freak, so I’d say you’re doing a damn good job Joe
Dang it Mcbell, if you don’t ditch the heist to take that little girl to Cabinet Caverns I’m removing you from my top clown tier list.
I mean, on the one hand, I absolutely agree. On the other, this would mean that the mayor stopped a heist, just by acting like this.

Oh come on. Take the girl on the heist! It’s a once-in-a-lifetime educational experience!
“Hey kid, you wanna learn how to do crimes?”
She probably can’t be a worse influence than the kid’s dad already is.
Trying to imagine what “Cabinet Caverns” could be and sort of drawing a blank.
I’m guessing an arcade. The actual physical thing a game is built in is an “arcade cabinet.”
It’s the bowling alley/arcade from Chapter 5
Yup. Check chapter 5 page 61.

….CAN the mayor fire mcbell??
Considering that the man who can fire McBell is in his pocket, yes, he can absolutely fire McBell
Not legally, but also absolutely.

It’s like watching a train wreck in slow motion.
If the clowns are turning into the police, that’s probably the reason Dougherty’s ex wife is scared of them.
Perfect! McBell now has the perfect patsy for the heist!
Ohhhhhh I hate this little bastard man so much
The kid could use a friend in these cases. Even if it means to overcome your own fears.
