That’s probably the best answer to give. My estimation of Junior has risen considerably.

My impression of Junior is that he’d be fun to hang out with but should have absolutely none of the power over others that he has via his wealth.

(fun to hang out with *if the stakes were low, which they wouldn’t be, again because of his wealth and power)

Typical rich heir really. His father had all the cunning, business acumen, and actually made the money. The son is a dipshit with a silver spoon crammed into every available orifice from birth who will run the family headfirst into the ground. Real Elon Musk type.

The dangerous thing is if, like Musky boy, he manages to accrue a cult of personality before self-destructing. Fortunately, I think him being a frat boy instead of a tony stark impersonator means the odds of that are relatively low.

Joe I deeply respect your ability to chain together like five different great jokes and then kick my face in with a pun that’d be at home on Rocky and Bullwinkle. Always keep ’em guessing.

“How do you feel about caves?” [feel as in opinions/emotions]
“Like this.” [pantomimes (feel-as-in-touch)ing a cave]

That was ALMOST a decent joke in that last panel, but I’m betting his delivery was less than charming.

I don’t think it was supposed to be a joke. That makes it funnier. (For me, at least. Not so much for the clowns.)

While letting the elephant in the room quietly munch a cheese cube: Is Cardigan a competent bodyguard or what? In the know, discreet and with a minimum of sass. And quite stylish, in my – from any sense of fashion unperturbed – opinion. How old might she be?

When the clowns are the straight men!
    The irony got me!

McBell, don’t tell me you’ve accepted those three’s job.

      There’s a couple alternatives:

      1. McBell is here to throw a wrench in her friends’ plan.
      2. McBell is here to mess with the mayor’s reputation in way that does not involve stealing.
      3. This isn’t McBell. Maggie observed her for long enough to copy her mannerisms and is trying to cause trouble between Mcbell and the Corps.

No reason she can’t do the first two together.

Either the Mayor figures there are enough clowns in the room to protect him no matter where they are, or he forgot what he hired Bout to do.

Let’s be honest, he did not need a clown bodyguard in the first place. None of the other rich people have a bodyguard at all, and he did not have one before becoming the head of the Corps. Flaunting a bodyguard is just a fear-mongering technique, and an auction is not a fear-mongering place.

    Junior, Junior, Junior.

You are the inheritor of a big company, at least, your family is wealthy and you’ve inherited all of it.

For legal purposes, you MAKE NO MONEY AT ALL. Or, at least, a bare minimum for appearances sake. Everything your company makes is going to go through tax systems that cost you FAR less than if it officially belonged to you.
Your paycheck is a legal fiction.

Technically he IS the new head of the ClownCorps and this position would come with a substantial salary. Granted, compared to his other income it might be a pittance…

Oh thank goodness she wasn’t kidnapped by Echo. But does that mean Echo just… Watched her walk by without engaging? That’s worrying for a different set of reasons
