AGENT NAME: CAPTAIN OBVIOUS
ROUTINE: STATING THE OBVIOUS
LIVEWIRE COULD SIMPLY SAY:
“I did undercover work to blow the cult’s cover, but the job ended early when McBell tangled with the mime. Gothbrella clearly knows that I was embedded in the cult, so she’s targeting me to try and get intel on the cult, and apparently the mime in particular. But you fought her off before she was able to get violent against me, Fuschia.”
To be fair, Livewire doesn’t know that Fuschia would probably still accept her after learning her history. Telling the truth is just as risky as lying, as far as she knows.
There are only 4 people that know the backstory of LW (and could have sold her out to Ringmaster, btw): Agent Binky, Agent Mustard, Anesthesia and Snow Queen. (And Angel the cat? IIRC did Joe explicitly tell us in an Alt-Text that Angel was the mole! Mistook it for a joke then, but now I prefer it to being one of the afore mentioned!) Anyway: The mole is not necessarily the vigilante.
As I said:”The mole is not necessarily the vigilante.” Personally I think, Mustard is the most probable contender, since she knew of LW and because of her routine. And she has a reason in the first place to try and find Echo before the Corps does. But there is no reason for her to send Cowgirl to her death or set up a trap for herself, Binky and PJ. Logic dictates the snitch to be either Anesthesia oder Snow Queen, doesn’t it? So I opt for Angel, and by extension Agent Raspberry, because I like them the least… (still like them, but the least).
(Actually, I would be heartbroken, but not surprised, if Fuchsia turns out to be the traitor: The Alt-text is kinda ambiguous. But that’s metagaming, boooh!)
Re: the mole discussion elsewhere in the comments, I think the mole is actually Doc (or alternatively Bunsen). In other words, one of the clowns from the Corps lab. The Shadow Circus has had access to this advanced teleportation tech for a while, so they must have someone scientific involved, but we haven’t seen who yet. Doc and Bunsen are some of the few characters who might be able to do this kind of thing. Plus, almost nobody seemed to know about Mustard and Binky’s trip to the peanut factory, but check out Ch.2 pg 23-25 – we know that Doc not only knew, but was the one who pointed them to the peanut factory and to Detective Soto in the first place. It could also be Bunsen, who was dissuading them from doing it, but Doc having this info and pushing them to go seems particularly suspicious to me.
That part I’m not sure about. It wouldn’t be too much of an extrapolation if they knew Oats withheld the info about the peanut factory visit, but that’s a little bit of a stretch. Still, I feel like Doc giving them the intel on the place to begin with feels too perfect to just be a coincidence.
no don’t go for the obvious lie. You say “I can’t tell you without permission.”
1 not lying
2 not your fault you aren’t telling
3 makes you seem mysterious
More like LiveLIAR. Thank you I’ll be here all week(or at least until Wednesday).
Also, that bottom left panel. Livewire’s definitely got the crush vision a-going.

but the drama of fuchia having a SECOND person with a criminal past keeping it a secret from her is too good!

My gaydar is gaying.
Those two are gonna be swappin’ greasepaint, mark my words
Besides Mustard and the Nurse, is there anyone left at the station that knows who Livewire was before? Could be a dangerous situation for Livewire.

No you’ve already convinced me, the mystery stranger the girls just fought is actually angel the cat.

Unironically, Angel’s owner being the mole and using the cat as a wiretap has been my theory since that thread was introduced.
…Fuchsia.
FUCHSIA
All else aside, Fuchsia knowing more could legitimately put her in danger. Oats has whole-ass layers of reasons for keeping quiet.
Suddenly “Take My Breath Away” by Berlin starts playing in the background of panel 5!

Interesting theory. But neither Doc nor Bunsen knew that Cowgirl came into the open. But Ringmaster knew…

Starting to suspect Livewire has a thing for getting saved.
By badass ladies.
Who are also clowns.
And I just read all of that in one sitting, idk how many hours but it must’ve been less than 4. Good comic, I’ll be waiting for the next update.
Look at her big shiny eyes, Livvewire! How can you lie looking into these big honking eyes?! /I’m just joking
It’s also good way to show why they didn’t recognize Mustard. Because Mustard wouldn’t be so MEAN lol
It’s hard to keep a secret identity when your fighting style is so distinctive.
damn, livewire almost got stuck in HEHE GURL PREDDY mode there
