I am the world’s biggest sucker for exposition that takes on uplifting thematic relevance to a seemingly unrelated event happening elsewhere. I love the story turning around and saying, “Actually, the most important part of being a super fighting action clown is being a clown.” The comic is good.
Ok this is actually funny cuz my local fire department had firefighter clowns who did assemblies at school that taught about fire safety and we always went wild for them. They were called boots ‘n bunker and would do stuff like “hey boots get me a match out of that bag but be careful cuz it’s sooooo tiny” and the clown would take a giant collapsible match out of a tiny bag. Peak humor.
Well, now that I’ve devoured the whole archive in one sitting I guess it’s time to say that I absolutely love everything about this comic, and it will be a privilege to wait patiently for more!
Oh! So in the… first? chapter when Binky said he felt weird about the firefighters becoming the cops he wasn’t just making a joke. The foreshadowing in this is so awesome <3
Shoulda kicked him in the dick anyway, he deserves it.
So they taught the Art of Clowning, but did they become the Kings of Clowners?
… I’ll just leave now.
Okay I love this actually

The colorist died after the third frame. Rest in piece.
Clown lore!
Sooooo.
Anyone seen “The Brave Little Toaster”?
The brat is probably Mayor-to-be Burke, who “played” with matches 15 mins ago and is now founding the infamous Cult of Margarete Steiff!
So they’re actually firefighter clowns not cop clowns! Much better.
Oh, that’s a great way to tie in the gimmick to the story themes. The Clown part of ClownCorps is the heart ofnit all ❤💯
Always love a story that leans into helping as a core tenant of heroism. I feel like that gets lost sometimes these days.
Wouldn’t dressing as clowns scare the kids even more?
pennywise wasn’t invented in this world don’t worry 😊
I’m not terribly familiar with Pennywise, beyond that it’s a horror movie featuring a clown.
“Pennywise” is just the in-setting cover identity, not the title of the work. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It_(character)
well, they weren’t wrong. it is a horror movie featuring a clown.
But if Mcbell doesn’t join the heist, who will Bout fight in a highly ironic and convoluted twist of fate?
I don’t think Build-A-Bear will answer Teddy’s prayer…

A friend of mine loves to say this:
Jokes are the Deepest Lore.
I’ve been taking what Binky says at face value. He does not seem like the type to joke.
