Terrible news Burke, that’s not why no one takes you seriously.

Dude does know that nobody is making you be mayor there, right? Like he could just move; nobody is keeping him chained here specifically

Like many awful people throughout history, Burke sees a reality not fully in tune with his own wishes and has decided he should not have to compromise with or accomodate for any of it.

After all, why should HE have to change? It’s EVERYTHING ELSE that sucks.

I think he sucked out its innards. Like a vampire.

Why does Burke come off way more unhinged and dangerous here than he has the entire comic before now?

It’s been like a decade. He’s mellowed out in his old age.

So it’s all about Burke’s own ego. But did he want to get rid of the Clown Corps entirely, or keep them and make them scarier? Maybe either would work for him. I guess we’ll find out shortly.

I’m also mildly surprised to learn that the name “Pinfall” had nothing to do with bowling.

I would say that if he wanted the Clown Corps turned into a ‘serious’ organization, he would probably not have picked Platt jr. as its new director.

You know, before Platt jr. ran off to Antarctica on a whim with nothing but Cardigan, a fake beard, and a real Chimpanzee for company. Hopefully the penguins will accept him as one of their own.
