i still so adore that at the end of the day, what mattered was this little kid in a bad place feeling safe and ok. And it took removing the paint to do it; the same way a lot of IRL clowns who work with kids use reduced or absent face paint.

Aw. It’s great to see McBell making a new friend beyond just being in the clown world. It’s a great feeling to see once in a while considering the world we live in now even in this comic world.

And once more we are treated with some neat character development: Dot is not only a timid child with brave airs but got a sassy side as well. And her mother seems to be rather grounded too, as long McBell is out of wig and makeup. Maybe the fear of clowns runs in the family.
Also, isn’t it amazing that a Sticky Bun is still a dollar a piece after roundabout 15 years? Thank goodness for shrinkflation, otherwise Dot would have burst…
You can hold down on the image like you’re trying to copy/save it and see Alt Text at the top of your drop down menu(at least on iOS), but that only works for the most recent page. All the other panels just have a link for the next pace where the Alt Text would be, since the website lets you click the image to go to the next page, so us mobile readers gotta rely on our recent pal PersonMcPerson.

That outfit without the make-up might be the best one in the whole comic! It really makes her stand out as a confident adult.
