If it were someone smarter than junior they might be able to piece together it’s mustard by the fact she was at the peanut factory (aside from the very obvious fact that its just mustard)
His dad is Alexander Platt, (Who as involved as the weapons manufacturer for the Shadow Circus) and he was killed by the tear-mask guy at the peanut factory. As the clowns put it back in chapter 2, Platt owns the Mayor, and the Mayor owns the PPD.
Honestly, the way Mustard is acting, I expect her to go off the deep end in the sanity department more than the morality department. Every time she talks she seems nearly hysterical.
As for McBell, she acts dumb and carefree, but has shown herself to care strongly about what really matters morally when it comes down to it. I strongly suspect she’s really at the auction to figure out what is going on there, and “stealing stuff” is only her cover, though she might decide later that stealing stuff is actually a good course of action.
