Coach Z and Bubs are Homestar Runner characters. There was a video series called “Marzipan’s Answering Machine” where they, among others, would leave crazy messages on said character’s answering machine. 🙂
Soto was investigating “a possible link between the mayor’s office and the shadow circus.” I know the mayor is enough of a sleazebag on his own, but thinking about that phrasing, it makes me wonder if we should be paying closer attention to his secretary and Janice.
Next up on that answering machine: Strong Bad trying to do a crank call by pretending to be Echo, only to realize two sentences in that he has no idea what her voice actually sounds like.
