If this was an animated show, you just know all the other clowns would have serious, or at least more “normal”, instrumentation while the Mayor here would be the only one with an actual circus clown music leitmotif.

He is an advocate of minimalist logos. Pure evil.
Also, “I can’t stand privileged people”. He is so far buried under his own glass house he cannot even see that there is a sky outside of it. Also literally does not care that his father died and even asks for Binky’s autograph about it, and takes the secretary clown as his “bodyguard” on a whim with no warning. He lacks any kind of empathy. I’d say that’s a lot of red flags.

I so want to dislike Mayor Burke, but I cannot help but find his childlike enthusiasm endearing!
And there still is this nagging feeling in the back of my head, that we do not know everything there is to the ClownCorps! McBells encounter with the ordinary citizenry in the mall really threw me. What, I ask, what, if the Corps actually WAS rotten and the mayor wants to reform it by throwing out the old management? Doesn’t that make him the good guy? (N.B: I do not like this theory, and I think it is highly unprobable, but I can’t help myself there…)
