I think you might be overstepping your data set by suggesting “our” brains are “designed” to see things a certain way just because you do chief. Something to think about.

I think the machine was genuinly stuck, but coach chose to do the funny thing for Ragdoll. The “…” on panel two is both him considering what encouraging thing to say and how to play the soda bit.
