Considering that Echo is Mustard’s long-lost thought-dead sister, and she’s has spent years beating herself up over the girl’s “death,” it’s depressing but realistic that she would be willing to seriously hurt “innocents” to try and save Echo.
I miss the Mustard that was excited about taking a field trip. :c She is going to end up burning every bridge she has just to try and cross one that may already be torched. This is tough to watch.
Okay, so, Livewire/Oats was a traitor and she technically attacked first – but Fuchsia is one of Mustard’s pupils and a complete innocent in this. Attacking her is beyond the pale!
You think both of them together could take on Mustard? I’m not so sure, actually.
But what am I thinking? I do not WANT my favourite characters to fight themselves! And Joe: they’re ALL my favourite characters! (Well, maybe with the exception of goth-clown, but even he has potential…)
Fuscia is a genius. Maybe they’d win if they tried. But what I’m saying is, I don’t think this ends with one side definitively beating the other. I think instead Livewire is going to cave in because she doesn’t want to put Fuscia in danger.
Again, Livewire is fine with herself getting beaten, but when it’s one of her crushes…
Unfortunately, Binky was right. Mustard was trying to replace the sister-shaped hole in her heart with McBell, and now that she’s found out that her sister is alive, she’s just tossing everything out the window in the name of finding her. Mustard loves her sister far more than any morals she has.
Is she? I’m pretty sure Mustard was pretty insistent on not letting mcBell die in a mime-based homicide. I don’t think Mustard is completely in the wrong here, even if this is a bad path to go down.
I think people in these comments are talking past each other. Is Mustard:
Correct to track down the mime/her sister
On her own outside the Clown Corps
By threatening people who claim they know nothing relevant
?
IMO point 2 is where it breaks down. This is messy enough as-is, going rogue is a good way to end up working at cross-purposes with people you should be helping. Actively using violence against other Clowns makes that even worse. Yes, she wants her sister back, but there is a line and she’s over it.
Given how the clown corps has been compromised by the mayor it makes sense for her to go outside the Clown Corps for answers. It also makes sense she doesn’t trust oats/livewire in particular.
I think she’s making a mistake, but I can understand why she is doing it, and I think how she reacts to Fuchsia on the next page will determine if she has really crossed a line.
So obviously this is wrong, but I don’t think there’s a whole lotta stuff that clowns can do to stop her right now, and I can’t blame her for not trusting the Clown Corps.
Exactly! Something is going on in the Corps! I still can’t believe how much fear McBell instilled in that little girl at the mall (and her mom, btw). Like the ClownCorps are some kind of Sharia police or something. OTOH it’s so hard to imagine Winterqueen handing out a few death sentences….
A fear of clowns is fairly common, kids often have very strong negative reactions to things that would seem normal to other people like my childhood fear of escalators!
i just found this today and binged this whole thing, and i have to say i love it. its such a stupid concept that’s executed so well it loops all the way back around to being AMAZING!
jesus fucking christ Mustard
mustard i will be real with you this feels like a little much
I mean, if she wants the info, she has to seem threathening, right?

Mustard is this š close to bringing the mustard gas.
Turns out there’s a big gap between senior clown agents and even a skilled trainee.

Yet Iām always excited for the next page.

Fuchsia shot first… My hope is, Agent Mustard will go easy on her, sort of a Binky/Bout situation, let’s say: a teaching moment…
My guess is that Livewire is fine with keeping mum if it’s herself being beat up, but when it’s Fuscia…

would also like to add that I’m reading the italicized text in a southern accent.

Right. But the mother asks “are we free to go?” after getting handed a doll from a clown. This reeks of reign of terror, if you ask me.
Death to traitors!
I love the visual clarity in these pages.

I’m gonna laugh my butt of if we find out this isn’t actually Mustard. XD
