Well, part of the Shadow Circus’s plan was to discredit the Corps by creating a public impression of “scary clown infighting, all clowns are bad”. (See Chapter 5, pages 29–31.) So maybe that worked? Though Burke himself thought that the public would rally around “their” clowns even if they were frightening.

Pretty sure they haven’t covered fires for a while now. Every time a character finds out that the Clown Corps started as firefighters, they’re like “Huh, that’s an interesting historical fact. I wouldn’t have immediately guessed that.”

The Clown Corps wasn’t Echo’s main concern anyway. She has some other, unrevealed plan brewing. See Chapter 6 page 77.

The city of Pinfall is governed by a city council of 1 members, elected in single-seat wards for staggered terms of 7 years. The council elects a 1-man executive committee from among their number, which again appoints one of its members as mayor.

Makes for very efficient decisionmaking.
