Art evolution which I find to be one of the best parts of reading long form webcomics. It’s not just Bout’s chin which is more pronounced making him look older and more intimidating as he grows into his position, Mayor Burke has shrunk considerably and all that lost mass went straight to his nose, showing more of his true nature as a smug little weasel with no true physically threatening presence. Dougherty’s head has also shrunk a bit and his chin has widened. Fitting for the donut eating idiot he’s proven himself to be. All the design refreshes are revealing more of who the characters are at a glance.
The comic also has a cartoon-y style, and sometimes proportions just change from panel to panel. I.E Binky is never wider than he’s tall, but how much taller he is than wide depends on the ambient temperature, what works best for the page/panel and whether jupiter is back in retrograde.
Looks like the Hamburglar’s getting grilled. He should’ve mustard the will to cheese it and ketchup with the others, but he relished the lettuce, and now he’s in a pickle.
It’s very interesting that we don’t know who is narrating the internal dialogue. Bout or MeBell’s friend whose name I’ve forgotten. Although now that I’m typing this I think it’s actually still McBell as part of her phone message to Morgan.
“Mayor Burke. These past thirty hours working for the Clown Corps have been an honor and a privilege. I’ve wondered for a while, but now I’m sure. I can no longer dedicate myself to this organization. Find yourself another clown. I quit.”
But it would fit perfectly, don’t you think? He hates Burke and his cronies and suddenly has an Emperor3000 AND 40 hamburgers!!! (Hendrik never said his clown ONLY wanted to be paid in hamburgers…)
Damn the mayor really loves clown brutality.
Get ‘em, Chief! Ronald must be stopped! For the good of our stomachs!

ooooh Bout’s big test of whether he really wants this job, I’m excited to see where this goes
Jesus Christ, what is up with Bout’s face in these panels?! I mean, just look at his chin! It’s somehow turned… pointy all of a sudden!
It didn’t kinda weird me out. But I’m not sure if that’s normal for bout. Maybe it’s to show he has an iron chin (metaphorically speaking)
*did kinda. Not didn’t.
Just checked. Bout does have a pointed chin but it’s kinda exgarated in here. I don’t know why.
Growth spurt but only for his chin.
…reminds me of Binky, too. Back when he was a clown called “Binky”.
he is being seen from below, because the mayor is short, which changes how things look.
He leveled up after beating the kung fu guy.

That does make sense. Very good insights.

That does makes sense. I respect that.
Ah. yeh. yep. this is always where this was gonna lead huh.
Looks like the Hamburglar’s getting grilled. He should’ve mustard the will to cheese it and ketchup with the others, but he relished the lettuce, and now he’s in a pickle.
A bold order to give to a clown who is, as I just realized, dressed up like Optimus Prime.
There’s no way Bout would let a man tied to a chair have it, even if it didn’t mean snitching on mcbell.
I was wondering when they caught McBell’s old buddy. Forgot it was a completely off-screen capture here:

The question is, did they catch him because of the even-more-off-screen alt text here?

That’s my interpretation as well. Same style of caption boxes and everything.
Alright Bout, its your narrative arc’s choice. Serve or stand for yourself?
By ‘it’, I imagine they naturally mean a Sticky Bun. Food bribes make the world go around. Obviously.
I do find it interesting that despite it all, this time her ‘friend’ ISN’T selling her out.
He’s LYING! The clown’s name was not Ronald! And I happen to know exactly HOW MANY hamburgers were paid!
(40 hamburgers, uncooked…So what’s the real name of the clown…?)
LEX LUTHOR! I KNEW IT, THOSE CAKES WERE TOTALLY A RUSE!
..wait, you meant Binky? Nah, nah.
“Mayor Burke. These past thirty hours working for the Clown Corps have been an honor and a privilege. I’ve wondered for a while, but now I’m sure. I can no longer dedicate myself to this organization. Find yourself another clown. I quit.”
That’s definitely the best case scenario. I hope it happens.

…was meant as a reply to GGiG…
