Maybe. On the other hand, Dougherty’s back in the room now. Killing the mayor is a bold move to begin with, but killing him in front of the chief of police is on another level.
Assaulting a billionaire who was trying to kill the mayor that Chief Dougherty and Bout both work for. What’s the order of operations on corruption here?
Dang. Well, it’s ’bout time something like this happened.
…Now I’m left wondering if this kind of punching power is something unique to Bout when he’s sufficiently riled (and has therefore been holding back all this time), or if the power to launch people into outlines of the nearest wall (using an appropriate Routine) is something *all* clowns can do when the situation calls for it. Like, Echo and Mustard have done similar-ish things so far, but could Binky have done this to Ringmaster or Strongman? Could McBell?
Or is this more of an environmental effect, like the total amount of general buffoonery and clownery in the building this evening have pooled so much potential raw Comedy that it has unlocked some kind of Clown Limit Break? Is this done because all clowns are this powerful, or is it simply because it is funny? Clown God only knows.
Bout’s routine is “just punches”. Other clowns can hit plenty hard, but I’m willing to bet he can his significantly harder than almost anyone else, especially with a simple straight punch
I’d further wager that his punches have more ‘effect’ to them than a more competent fighter’s would.
To use a comparison point, Strongman would likely be able to -throw- Grampa Billionaire into the wall with ease, but I don’t think he wouldn’t be able to PUNCH him so hard it lifts him over a 10-foot horizontal gap and through the wall with a perfect outline.
This is presumably why Bout could punch apart a nanobot cannon that looked to be of similar durability to iron, all without significantly harming his own hands.
That makes sense. Strongman is *strong*, and his training, in all likelihood, was about how to leverage that strength in a more generally-useful way. He’s shown stopping a car, he threw Binky around, etc.
Bout is a Clown, someone who’s inherently going to have some sort of advantage or skill in order to even qualify for the training he’s receiving as a student at Pinfall’s Clown College, and his Routine is *entirely* about melee combat, specifically: punches.
It’s stated at one point that Binky started off similarly to Bout, as a melee fighter, who switched to confetti weaponry in order to give his hits some range, and Binky is still a big guy who can hit pretty hard, but Bout’s seemingly sticking with the melee focus and making it his whole thing, differentiating himself from his dad despite the similar starting point, so him just objectively being able to land incredibly powerful punches that other characters can’t match makes sense.
You need a car lifted off of somebody, you’d call Strongman (if he were still a clown, at least). If you’re in a fight and need somebody punched so hard that they go down, you call Bout.
Oh he can treat the calcium deficiency as long as his old ass cells are absorbing calcium properly, but i’m pretty sure the arthritis, or rather osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease!
Kinda makes me want the exact opposite. A fighter who uses fat as armor. Kinda like mr heart from fist of the north star or the blob from x men. Tv tropes calls it kavlard armor. Underrated trope.
Or you can go the Viking route and be built like bear. Absolutely massive, plenty of fat, but also a ton of muscle, resulting in someone who’s just massive
I realized this last update after a few hours but I didn’t have time and then forgot. The Black Widow whatshername is obviously killing the Mayor while he’s distracted.
As Mr. A. has already mentioned (I had forgotten it too): Police Chief and friend of Mayor Burke, Bruce “Triggerhappy” Dougherty, is in the room. Juniper’s seduction skills are ineffective on him. Burke should be safe – for now. Honeymoon looms…
I just love how characters are so powerful they warp the art style. Everything goes from realistic to exaggerated and it adds so much to whatever’s going on at the time.
Someone will say it’s because Joe doesn’t know how to draw, but it’s clear it’s because he’s actually a genius.
Also want to mention that previous page old man was pupilless while bout had pupils. Then this page it swapped. Very cool way of showing the balance of power.
Makes me think of the Ippo chapter where a guy riled Ippo up so much that instead of boxing, Ippo just *laid him out* in one punch like, 2 seconds into the match. It was a two page spread for the hit.
Damn no alt text, talk about ’nuff said
Holy shit…
The force of that punch is very well conveyed.
Punched so hard mf grew scleras
he stole Bout’s
Why do i have a feeling juniper os gonna kill the mayor while buot isn’t looking.
…and nothing of value was lost.
Wishful thinking
Maybe. On the other hand, Dougherty’s back in the room now. Killing the mayor is a bold move to begin with, but killing him in front of the chief of police is on another level.
Bro hit that man so hard he knocked all the colour out of the scene. Gotten with that Toph vibration punch.
DAMN
And then Chief Dougherty arrests him for assaulting a billionaire
Assaulting a billionaire who was trying to kill the mayor that Chief Dougherty and Bout both work for. What’s the order of operations on corruption here?
Good point. Probably Dougherty would start to arrest him but the mayor would wave him off.
Death is probably a more skilled combatant than Bout

omae wa mo shinderu
This is a comic about clowns
Talk about hitting the right spot with just enough energy to knock him out.
That’s what happen when you skip leg day.
I don’t think anyone will be copying that.
Hope the old man’s okay after that, wouldn’t want this weighing on bout’s conscience.
Still no alt text 🙁
Very cool page, though!
Old man forgot that below all that bulk he’s probably got arthritis and a calcium deficiency hahahahahaha!
The man is fortified by the most advanced medicine money can buy. I doubt he’d overlook something so basic.
Oh he can treat the calcium deficiency as long as his old ass cells are absorbing calcium properly, but i’m pretty sure the arthritis, or rather osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease!
This chump doesn’t realise that 0.1% body fat means every hit hurts ten times more. He needs some fat on that meat.

P O W!

Juniper!
I doubt she’ll actually kill the mayor tonight but who knows!
As Mr. A. has already mentioned (I had forgotten it too): Police Chief and friend of Mayor Burke, Bruce “Triggerhappy” Dougherty, is in the room. Juniper’s seduction skills are ineffective on him. Burke should be safe – for now. Honeymoon looms…
This page felt like a punch to the gut
He got hit so hard he developed tremor sense

Actions warping the art style is part of his style and one of the reasons why his comic is so genius
By the looks of it that is one thick wall.
Byakugan! I know a byakugan punch when I see one!
About as satisfying as when PJ caught the tumbler guy and beat him in
get yote motherfuckerrr
Also want to mention that previous page old man was pupilless while bout had pupils. Then this page it swapped. Very cool way of showing the balance of power.
Ops accidentally replied to someone when i meant that as a stand alone comment
JonTron: Holy shit! You fucking killed him, dude!
RIGHT IN THE SOLAR PLEXUS! sadly that man probably has like 20 different Life Insurances so he’ll be back but hopefully he’ll learn
Nah, they don’t cover acts of clowns
Makes me think of the Ippo chapter where a guy riled Ippo up so much that instead of boxing, Ippo just *laid him out* in one punch like, 2 seconds into the match. It was a two page spread for the hit.
YERRRRRRRRRR GET HIS ASS
So, anyone wanna lay odds as to whether Bout sent him flying into the pizza van full of loot?
Oh i didn’t think of that.
Omae Wa, Mou Shinderu.
Nani?!?
*Ahem*
ONE PAAAAAAAAAWNCH
