How it seems to overwrite every other part of your identity, define who you are and what you do and how youre perceived. How its shifted people’s goals and priorities around, corrupting them away from what they were.

Almost everyone we’ve grown to know in the series has rejected the Corps changing them in this chapter, culminating in McBell finally abandoning her wig because being a hero is more important than being a clown. Ringmaster might have been wrong in a lot of ways, but his core critique of the superhero shtick wasnt.

Its a very mature topic that is well lampshaded by the slapstick and goofiness of the folks around them.
