Iunno if this ends in Mustard’s death. Echo seems to have made an effort not to kill anyone up to this point, and killing Mustard here doesn’t really accomplish anything for her.
i’m curious about the fourth wall breaking thing, namely if mcbell ever did it in front of echo and if that’s where maggie might’ve picked it up, since she didn’t do it in any of the flashbacks.
She did do it in a flashback, though. Way back during the one at the beginning of this chapter, she made a joke about nothing happening to her then because “it’s not that kind of flashback”
okay, here’s my current theory: maggie suffered ego death, so she’s now only able to mirror back the personalities she’s witnessed and experienced.
time spent fighting and around morally jacked up people hasn’t given echo many positive character traits to emulate.
it’s, perhaps, a stretch, but i’m also holding out hope for a happy ending for both sisters, so what else can i do? (and it would be nice to have a subversion of the evil mime trope. mimes get a bad rap for the amount of work that goes into their artform)
man this sucks i really don’t see how Maggie has any sort of leg to stand on here, but i also don’t see how Morgan gets out of this either physically or mentally unharmed. not sure what sort of ending to this fight could leave me feeling anything but upset in some way 🙁
I think Maggie might be method acting right now. Like, she’s playing a role for her sister to achieve a deliberate effect, and it could be completely unrelated to what she actually believes or feels.
I know this is probably ending with Mustard’s death, but you know what? I still hope Morrigan puts Maggie down.
I hope Mustard doesn’t die. That would make me sad.

I hope you’re right as well.
Who the hell is Morrigan?.
Morgan*, Mustard’s real name. I keep using the Morrigan spelling because I’ve been playing a LOT of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 lately.
Also, I almost called it Mustard vs. Capcom here, which… I don’t know how to feel about that, tbh.
“Put down” as in dying? What?
As in beat. Even if Maggie pulls a Joker later and breaks out of custody and throws the entire city into chaos.
What are you about Maggie? You’re calling it an evil cult but you’re still running it
She shares McBell’s fourth-wall breaking powers but, like McBell, isn’t gonna go off script.
Also technically she called the cult “wacky,” she called herself “evil.”

I do zees… in ze name of Bastille.
but if you close your eyes (eh oh eh oh! eh eh oh eh oh! eh eh oh eh oh! eh eh oh eh oh!)
“a wacky cult turned me into an evil mime” and also my favorite character. Maybe second favorite. I love Mcbell a lot but also, Echo <3
“You can’t expect to wield supreme antagonistic power just because some whacky cult made a mime of you!”
I can’t believe mustard forgot to dress up for Bastille day. How rude!
It hasn’t been Bastille day since like fifty pages ago. It was long over by the time Morgan got to the warehouse.

Talk about creating your own monster.
Strong sisterly bonding going on here.
“… I can do a pretty damn good impression.”
we love our mime jokes here
echo is great at copying peoples powers, like:
TEEN MORGAN
Routine: Kind Of An Asshole
Does it matter whether Maggie/Echo is evil or not? Or does it matter whether you can convince her to stop hurting people?
(By the way, you can’t. Find someone who isn’t related to Maggie for the next round of diplomacy.)
