She was doing 4th wall awareness even in flashbacks! my read is “this is why McBell kind of reminds Mustard of her sister.”

(or rather, “this is why Mustard took a liking to McBell — because McBell reminds her of her sister”)

Maggie and McBell are actually the same person! Not sure how they fought each other…still working on that issue.

Huh. In the one flashback we got, Mustard wasn’t even as bad as a 90’s mean girl stereotype. She was worrying about Maggie’s safety joining the Corps.

    I wonder what else happened.

i mean, we don’t know the details of the car accident that ‘killed’ maggie, nor elaboration on why mustard was willing to put herself on the line to redeem a criminal whose felony and arrest lead to a death and the use of major munitions, and we haven’t gotten a flashback from her or maggie this chapter, so…

mustard might feel the need to believe people can become better for some reason.

mustard’s mean girl past has come up before, in passing – see chapter 5 page 87 and its alt text for the clearest mention.

Hmmmm so the final final final boss of the comic might be a squad of those who were bullied by Mustard in high school? /jk …unless…

In the one flashback, she’s talking to someone she cares about and likes. Presumably she bullied girls who weren’t her sister.

With this page, chapter 6 has tied with chapter 5 as the longest chapter, and we’ve clearly got more to go.

I do not understand the confusion, tbh. Isn’t it established that cellphones were thwarted by Mathew’s company? So clearly this is a parallel or fantasy world- WE do not have EviL Overlord billioNaires in our reality…oh, wait…

It would be nice if our reality was just a story. One where said overlords are jailed and we get a happy ending. YOU HEARING ME POTENTIAL AUTHORS!?

Can’t wait for the reveal that there’s a powerful cosmic force altering peoples perceptions that Maggie and McBell are immune to, but can’t actually talk to anyone about
