Proper surgical anaesthesia isn’t a matter of reducing pain generally. No pain – or not enough pain to be taken seriously – taken too far as a policy, tends to result in ignoring the underlying problem, letting it get worse. Instead, it’s about managing predictable pain from some problem that’s already being actively dealt with, preventing the patient from flailing around in agony or having a heart attack or otherwise making the situation even worse.
Heh, furballs breaking and entering.
Anesthesia doing some social heavy lifting there, keeping it real with the kids and planting their foot back into the ground, always a good sight.
Oof.
You need to work on that bedside manner, Anesthesia.
I’m confused. “He was a little older”. Does Binky age backwards?
Not in like “he was older back then”, but “in our relationship, he was the older, more experienced person, but I was the smarter one”
Oh, duh, right that makes sense.
I guess I hadn’t considered those two lines as comparative, because read like that the “I was a little smarter” quip seems so unnecessary and petty.
Wrt the alt text: well, she’s a doctor. Carefully twisting a knife so you end up better in the long run is literally in her job description.
But it’s kinda ironic that she’s named after something that is suppose to reduce pain

Haha! I get. “ex-pectations” Eh? Eh?
…I know, that wasn’t intentional. It just looked funny…
Oh, poor Oats.
I’m really conflicted on how to feel about all this.
