Absolutely in love with the idea of a real-world parallel where a defense lawyer tells the judge “Yes, this person admits to breaking into the casino and, in their own words, ‘trying to steal a bunch of money,’ and then they successfully took down several S.W.A.T. members as they tried to escape, but also they tried to enter the police academy themselves three years ago, so I propose that they come back and finish their training because they just seem like a decent sort.”
because every record of their intentions we have says that they were trying to help people, and we have recordings of them saving an officer’s life instead of trying to escape when they got an opportunity.
