Ah yes, the old “pretend to shoot a confetti glove at them but at the last minute use the groundbreaking new teleportation tech you just invented to swap it onto the hand of someone behind them” trick. That old chestnut.
Yeah, that was my first thought too. But the implications were: LW still has Shadow Circus technology, unbeknownst to a certified genius who just reverse-engineered it. That means LW is a triple agent (or quadruple agent? Hard to keep up!) because she hasn’t told anyone. A thought I couldn’t bear to entertain!
So I chose to interpret Fuchsia’s facial expression as “pumped up and curious” rather than “surprised” and assumed that the trainees set up a trap for the masked vigilante. Then, of course, Fuchsia must know about the checkered past of LW in order to use her as bait. (Oh man! Cue to ragdolls hat exploding. Just to much…)
No, on page 48, the last page before Livewire went outside, she was asking Fuchsia about trying out the tech, and Fuchsia said she had another glove already synced to the confetti gauntlet. Livewire was probably still wearing it. Fuchsia might not have expected this exact maneuver, given Livewire looked like she was down for the count, but she definitely knew Livewire was capable of it.
Haha, yeah. Confetti Gauntlet Switcharoo. The old trick. I’m not gonna lie, that *still* gets me half the time. No shame, Mystery Goth Girl, we’ve all been there.
Not after the prevoius pages, me neither!
Unrelatedly, may I ask a question that buggers me for quite a while:
I am surprised how often commentators misspell Fuchsia’s name. As a non native english speaker: How do you pronounce “Fuschia”? Like “Fuzz-chia” or “Fashia”? Is there a hidden meaning to either of them? Or is it because of decency, because “Fuchsia” in english could be (incorrectly, I assume) pronounced like a, hrm, four letter word? Thank you!
It’s a real weird one to pronounce! I pronounce it like “few-shah”. As for why it’s misspelled so often? Because it’s hard to spell haha, it doesn’t really sound at all like it sounds
Few Sha is the common pronunciation. And it’s extremely hard to spell, especially since people rely on spellcheck these days, and automated spellchecks have learned the wrong spellings since they’re so common. We just don’t ever see those letters in that order, especially to make those sounds.
(I remember the spelling because it’s so close to vulgarity, myself. It’s easier that way).
I think Livewire just repeated the moments to teleport it behind Not Mustard. She was there for the demonstration, and saw Fuschia Just do it infront of her outside the lab.
“That routine… That was Umbrella Aegis! So this means that this masked vigilante looking for Mustard’s sister is actually… Another mime able to copy Mustard’s routine!”
another fatality of gender reveal parties. sad
I like this comment. There’s no button for that here so I had to write it out.
I, however, am EVIL, and as such, HATE this comment!
But have you considered that gender reveal parties are evil?
this is one of the funniest things i’ve read in weeks thank you very much

I dunno. I read Fuchsia as shocked, I don’t think she knew Livewire was set up to do that.

Right, I totally forgot! Thank you, much better now!
Third time this week.
And this is why you don’t fight techies. They always have another trick up their sleeves. Clown techies are RIGHT OUT.
Well, Dark Mustard didn’t last very long.
Grey Poupon
GET GAYED ON IDIOT
Wait, what?! Amazing!
Words fail! Praise, praise!
Mustard has been taffied.
GET CLOWNED ON, IDIOT
It looks like a win until you realize they just loaded all of their confetti into HER umbrella.
Critical Hit!

Like a spoon under a faucet.
Hooting and hollering over here IM SMASHED
I wouldn’t have bet anything on Livewire and Fuschia in that fight
Not after the prevoius pages, me neither!

My fuschia’s so bright, I’ve got to wear shades

Thanks a bunch, @Mana and @Vikki!
Fighting outnumbered is rough, even for a very skilled fighter
Always check both sides of yourself during a two on one battle.
This is why you should never go alone into a fight. You need someone to check your six.
get wrecked!
Hopefully this will then lead to a team-up, heroes always fight each other before a team-up.
Amazing!!!
WOOOAAAA get styled on mustard!!
Livewire: *watches DBZ and sees Goku’s Instant Transmission Kamehameha against Perfect Cell* That’s some hype shit I gotta give it a try
The artwork for this whole fight has just been incredible.
Thank you, Not Mustard, for opening your umbrella to shield Fuschia from Livewire’s attack.

Teleportation is so busted.
