Oh, maaan, preliminary flashbacks are an ominous sign. They’re like the musical signal for Bruce the Shark, you just know things are headed for a turn.
Oh, you know, pull it apart, move the parts around, then build it back up as a good enough approximation of what it was. Exactly what she is going to do to that glove and/or hand.
It’s simbolic for the love that her parents gave her or something like that. It went away when her parents died and it’ll come back later when she goes on to put that into inventing or clowning or fashion or whatever
I think it’s stylization to indicate that that photo is her only clear image of her parents, and otherwise she only remembers things like her dad having glasses.
“The subject as we know it ceases to exist.”
Like a little girl who thought her parents would always be there, and that the world was a good place. OW.
IS FUCHSIA GOING TO DIE????????????????????????????????
I would assume the next page will be the second part of the flashback and detail the ‘reconstitution’ phase of the teleport.
Yeah, the flashback made me a lot less worried about her immanent death being the cause of the authorial solemnity.
It’s still pretty tense, though.
Can’t believe the experiment was so unsafe that it went back in time and killed her parents (I’m sorry)
No! The writer killed the parents!
Oh no! Tragic backstory montage. The stakes just got so much higher for this test!

Did… did she accidentally kill her parents?
It was a burglar. This was mentioned in an earlier chapter.
yes yes, ominous flashbacks, but GIRL what did you DO to that toaster???

I swear I’ll be so upset if she dies now…
This is where she accidentally sends someone back in time.
She killed her parents with a faulty toaster!?!
If I recall right it was a burglar.
Just to be clear, I was joking, do not despair Joe, your readership isn’t that literal minded 😉
i don’t know if i’m more worried about fuschia or about the 3 witnesses and how this will haunt them forever D:
Yes, even as a child, when the world is in shades of gray, Fuchsia is Fuchsia.

Mandatory tragic backstory in 3, 2, 1…
I hope it has a cool chase scene.
Behind every great clown is a great tragedy.
I find I have to be the sad clown: laughing on the outside, crying on the inside.
D: Hope this turns out okay!
Teleportation – Side effects may include unpacking your trauma.
And reassembling it at a remote destination.
I’m detecting a PTSD moment for Fuchsia in 3… 2… 1…
It bears mentioning that Little Fuchsia is unbearably adorable.
I love the little detail where we don’t see the faces until the photo. I don’t know what that means but it’s cool.
