I think that Gus Gilborn and the people under his sway are actually an allegory for not just the hypocritical pc bs, with the alt left, but the far right with the trump supporters as well, along with everything similar throughout history that has it’s basis on painting itself as good and heroic to get away with horrible things.
‘A story about a wealthy grifter who ruins people’s lives is of course readily comparable to WOKE and PC GONE MAD because of the ALT LEFT, but maybe this could even extend further than that in this case’ is certainly some kind of take.

Capital is in no way associated with the “alt left” which is not a term that describes anything in popular political discourse.
I was more thinking that Gus Gilborn is similar to Donald Trump, along with every real life villainous movement being characterized by thoroughly painting themselves as the good guys instead of the proud to be evil cartoon villains, not to mention that those of us who are closer to the middle see the alt left and far right as basically the same, but you’re right, the shadow circus member’s self righteous attitude and hypocrisy is very reminiscent of sjws.
